NRK SÁMI Executive Team

Based in Norway, NRK Sámi Television is a vital member of WITBN, serving as the voice of the
Sámi people, the indigenous population of northern Europe. NRK Sámi Television is dedicated to promoting and preserving Sámi language and culture through television broadcasting.
The network’s programming reflects the unique experiences, history, and aspirations of the Sámi
community, creating a platform for cultural exchange and appreciation.

Pål Hivand

Publishing Editor at NRK Sápmi, Norway.

Pål Hivand is Publishing Editor at NRK Sápmi, the Indigenous service of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. He is responsible for the entire NRK Sámi content portfolio and also driving the development of fresh, cross-platform formats and content. His department also overseas day-to-day operations and technology.

Monica Faloo Pettersen

Editor-in-chief for the publishing department at NRK Sápmi, Norway

Monica is the editorial manager of the NRK Sápmi content portfolio. She oversees that the diverse portfolio for the Sami audience aligns with NRKs strategy and the audience insight. A big part of her job involves developing, coordinating and overseeing content initiatives that strengthen Sami culture and language.

Anne Marja Hætta

Editor-in-chief for the program department (podcasts and radio) at NRK Sápmi, Norway.

Anne Marja is the Head of Podcasts and Radio at NRK Sápmi, the Sámi division of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. She leads the development of NRK’s audio content in all three Sámi languages, with a special focus on content for young Sámi audiences.

Marie Elise Nystad

Marie Elise is an editor in chief in the news department in NRK Sapmi. She is from Guovdageaidnu and has worked with Sámi issues for over 20 years as a journalist at NRK Sápmi. In recent years, she has been affiliated with NRK's investigative editorial team in Northern Norway.

Mariela Idivuoma

News Editor at NRK Sápmi, Norway.

Mariela Idivuoma is the News Editor at NRK Sápmi, the Sámi division of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, where she leads editorial efforts to amplify Sámi voices and Indigenous perspectives in news media. She is born and raised on the Swedish side of Sápmi and sámi is her mother tongue.

Norleif Kroko

Editor-in-chief for the program department at NRK Sápmi, Norway

Norleif Krokmo is the editorial director at NRK Sápmi, responsible for visual non-fiction and fiction content. He holds the operational responsibility for the production and development of engaging Sámi content for children, youth, and adults, as well as for various drama initiatives. Krokmo began his career at NRK Sápmi in 1998 and has since held a wide range of roles in both television and radio, including as a host, editor, and actor.

Torill Beate Hansen

Torill Beate Hansen is Head of Programming at NRK Sápmi, the Sámi division of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. She oversees resource management, talent development, recruitment, and the discovery of new Sámi voices and media profiles.
