Dong Ming-Cheng

Dong Ming-Cheng holds a Master's degree from the Department of Radio and Television at the National Taiwan University of Arts. He specializes in television engineering and system integration, and brings nearly 30 years of professional experience in the media industry. He has participated in numerous major domestic and international broadcast projects, including the Olympics, Asian Games, regional games, and New Year’s Eve broadcasts. He has also provided technical support for diplomatic missions and international satellite transmissions, making him a key figure in Taiwan’s broadcast engineering landscape.
In 2001, he was awarded the Golden Bell Award for Engineering and Technical Achievement, recognizing his excellence in broadcast systems and technological innovation. He previously served as Director of the Broadcast Center at the Chinese Television System (CTS), where he was responsible for nationwide signal transmission and system maintenance—playing a vital role in backend media operations.
He has extensive experience in designing and integrating systems for international sports broadcasts. His contributions include the design and deployment of the International Broadcast Center (IBC) for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the Incheon Asian Games, and the 2017 Taipei Universiade, demonstrating his ability to manage high-pressure technical environments.
Earlier in his career, he worked at Protech Electronics as a senior R&D systems engineer, where he developed solid expertise in audio-visual integration and signal processing. He participated in the development of Taiwan’s first-generation laptops and the Notebook Design Alliance Project with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI).
Dong continues to contribute his technical expertise to both education and the community. He currently serves as:
- Standing Director of the NTUA Alumni Association
- Chief Information Officer of the Gentlemen’s Association of the Republic of China
- Executive Director of the Broadcasting and Television Department Alumni Association at NTUA
- Volunteer with the Dharma Drum Mountain Tiennan Temple Mountain Guard Team
- Certified Level 2 Instructor of the New Taipei Public Speaking Association
- Vice President of the Alumni Association of Hungkuang University of Technology
- Deputy Director of Administration at the Tucheng Chapter of the New Taipei Public Speaking Association (2023)
His dual engagement in technology and community service demonstrates his leadership and commitment to both innovation and social participation.
